Taquitos Beef for Independence Day

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sour cream for serving
  • 1 cup salsa for serving

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned; drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water; simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Place a line of beef filling and cheese on each tortilla, then roll tightly.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry taquitos seam-side down until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with sour cream and salsa.
