  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • 1 14 oz can whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. 1. Boil the Pasta: In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add salt and spaghetti; cook until al dente according to package instructions.
  2. 2. Prepare the Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. 3. Create Tomato Magic: Add canned tomatoes, crushing them gently as they simmer. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4. Mix It All Together: Reserve some pasta water before draining spaghetti. Combine drained pasta with the sauce in the skillet, adding reserved water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  5. 5. Finish With Flavor: Stir in fresh basil and half of the Parmesan cheese until well combined.
