Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 3 pounds beef brisket trimmed
Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Liquid
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce for serving
Vegetables
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create a seasoning rub.
  2. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket.
  3. Place sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Add the seasoned brisket on top of the onions and garlic.
  5. Pour beef broth around the brisket.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the brisket is tender.
  2. Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  3. Serve with barbecue sauce on the side.
