Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 3 pounds beef brisket trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for searing
  • 1 tablespoon salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth or stock
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Rub the brisket with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Cooking
  1. Transfer the seared brisket to a roasting pan and pour the beef broth around it.
  2. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.
  4. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
