Dough Preparation
- Mix the flour and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the middle and pour in the warm water. Crumble in the fresh yeast or add the dry yeast. Also, add sugar and olive oil. Knead for approx. 10 minutes using a kitchen machine to form a smooth dough. Then shape into a ball and place back in the bowl. Cover the bowl and leave to rest in a warm place for approx. 1 hour until the dough has doubled in size.
Sauce & Filling Preparation
- For the sauce, mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
- For the filling, mix all the ingredients in a bowl while the dough is resting, or layer them on as preferred.
Assembly
- Roll out the risen dough on a lightly floured work surface into a rectangle. Spread the sauce over the dough, leaving a 2-3 cm edge at the top. Spread the filling, avoiding the edges. Roll up the dough from the bottom edge tightly and cut into slices approx. 3 cm thick. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cut side up, leaving space between slices.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390 F) top/bottom heat and let the pizza rolls rest for approx. 30 minutes. Bake on the middle rack for approx. 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling slightly and enjoy warm or cold.
