Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream for frosting
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for frosting

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, honey, eggs, and buttermilk until smooth. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire racks.
  5. For the frosting, beat together sour cream and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Once cooled, layer cakes with frosting in between and on top. Decorate as desired.
