Ingredients
  

  • 20 wontons store-bought or homemade
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1- inch piece fresh ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium if desired
  • 4 green onions chopped (plus more for garnish)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, combine chicken broth, grated ginger, minced garlic, and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the wontons to the simmering broth. If using frozen wontons, allow extra cooking time.
  3. Taste the broth mid-simmer and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. After about five minutes or when wontons are cooked through, stir in chopped green onions and cilantro.
  5. Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with additional green onions or cilantro. Serve hot.
