Ingredients
  

Chicken and Sauce
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Topping
  • 1 cup bread crumbs preferably buttered
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Method
 

Prepare the Casserole
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the bread crumbs, melted butter, and poppy seeds until well combined.
  2. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken mixture in the casserole dish.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time if baking from cold.
