Ingredients

Cheese and Onions
  • 2 cups finely shredded parmesan cheese divided
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced, patted dry

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Kitchen Shears

Method

Baking Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread 1.5 cups shredded cheese into a thin, even layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Arrange the onion rings on top of the cheese in a single layer without overlapping.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of each of the onions to create a light crispy layer.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is crispy and golden, checking frequently to prevent burning.
  6. Once most of the cheese is lightly golden, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Very carefully flip the sheet of onion chips over and return to the oven for 3-5 more minutes to crisp up any sections that aren’t fully golden brown.
  8. Remove chips from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  9. Break into smaller pieces or cut into individual onion chips using kitchen shears. Serve warm.
