Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk or almond/oat milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients. Prepare mixing bowls and a whisk.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the milk and egg together. Add melted butter and mix well.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients; gently fold until just combined (batter should be slightly lumpy).
  5. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and grease lightly with butter. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on top (about 2 minutes), then flip and cook for an additional minute until golden brown.
