Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz spaghetti or penne
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients on your countertop.
  2. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds before adding cherry tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes soften, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add drained pasta to the skillet and mix well. Gradually incorporate reserved pasta water until desired sauce consistency is achieved.
  5. Stir in chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese until combined.
  6. Serve hot with extra cheese if desired.
