Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups glutinous rice
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes sliced
  • Toasted sesame seeds or mung beans for topping

Method
 

  1. Rinse glutinous rice under cold water until clear. Soak in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked rice and steam in a cheesecloth-lined steamer over boiling water for about 30 minutes until tender.
  3. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt over low heat until dissolved (do not boil).
  4. Mix three-quarters of the coconut sauce with the warm rice once cooked.
  5. Peel and slice mangoes thinly.
  6. Serve by plating sticky rice alongside mango slices, drizzling with remaining coconut sauce, and topping with sesame seeds or mung beans.
