Ingredients
  

Dip Base
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup caramelized onions about 2 medium onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare Caramelized Onions
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Slice the onions and add them to the skillet.
  2. Cook the onions, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
Mix the Dip
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the caramelized onions to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serve
  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped chives.
  2. Serve with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
