Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
Add 12 oz of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 lb of ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add 1 medium chopped onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 2 tbsp of tomato paste, 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper to taste.
Pour in 1 cup of beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce and toss everything together until well coated.
Serve hot, garnished with freshly grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
