Ground Beef Pasta Recipes

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz spaghetti (or your choice of pasta)
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup beef broth (or water)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add 12 oz of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 lb of ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add 1 medium chopped onion and 3 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 2 tbsp of tomato paste, 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper to taste.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce and toss everything together until well coated.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with freshly grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
