Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti
Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with turkey
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
Garnish
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Prepare Meat Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce, tossing to combine. Serve hot, garnished with parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
