Prepare the Patties
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll into balls. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the Burgers
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip the patties.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Assemble the Burgers
- Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the toasted buns.
- Place the cooked patties on the bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
