Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) Formed into 4 balls
Burger Toppings
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese For melting on burgers
  • 4 buns burger buns Toasted
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce For topping
  • 1 medium tomato Sliced
  • 4 slices pickles For topping
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise For spreading on buns
  • 1 tablespoon mustard For spreading on buns
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt For seasoning beef
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper For seasoning beef

Method
 

Prepare the Patties
  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll into balls. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the Burgers
  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip the patties.
  3. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the toasted buns.
  2. Place the cooked patties on the bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
