Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee freshly made

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together until frothy. Add the vegetable oil and brewed coffee; mix until blended.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold until no dry spots remain. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for about ten minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
