Ingredients
  

Cheese Base
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese preferably sharp
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
Flavorings
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes with green chilies canned
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeño finely chopped, optional for heat
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Cheese Mixture
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream cheese and milk, stirring until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until melted and creamy.
Add Flavorings
  1. Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, cumin, jalapeño, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through.
Serve
  1. Remove from heat and serve warm with tortilla chips, vegetables, or bread.
