Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F
  • cup baking soda for boiling
  • 4 tbsp melted butter for brushing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • 2 tbsp milk for icing
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon for icing

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add flour and salt; knead until smooth.
  2. Shape the Pretzels: Divide dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into ropes and twist into pretzel shapes.
  3. Boil in Baking Soda Solution: Preheat oven to 425°F. Bring water mixed with baking soda to a boil; boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds.
  4. Bake Until Golden: Place pretzels on a greased baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with coarse salt if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Create Icing: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth.
  6. Drizzle & Serve: Drizzle icing over warm pretzels and enjoy!
