Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for coating

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture until combined.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized amounts of dough into balls and place on prepared sheets about two inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly firm but still soft inside. Allow to cool slightly before rolling in powdered sugar.
