Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef round steaks thinly sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ cup unsalted butter for gravy

Method

  1. Set up a breading station by whisking together buttermilk and eggs in one bowl, and combining flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in another.

  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Fry each steak for about three minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. For the gravy, remove excess oil from the skillet, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in leftover flour for one minute, then gradually add milk while stirring continuously until thickened.
  5. Serve fried steaks topped with warm gravy alongside your favorite sides.
