Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice from about 3-4 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • Ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Wash and pit the cherries, then place them in a large pitcher.
  2. Juice the lemons to yield 1 cup of lemon juice; strain out any seeds.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and 1 cup of water until dissolved to create simple syrup; let cool.
  4. Add the lemon juice and cooled syrup to the cherries in the pitcher with 3 cups of cold water; stir well.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving over ice.
