Ingredients
  

  • 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade
  • 6 cups Granny Smith and Fuji apples peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare the pie crust in a pie dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well-coated.
  3. Fill the crust evenly with the apple mixture and drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it.
  4. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing edges and cutting slits for steam to escape.
  5. Brush melted butter on top and sprinkle with extra brown sugar if desired. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with remaining caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
