  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes plus extra for garnish

  4. In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top while warm. Let cool before slicing.
