  • 2 cups fresh blueberries or frozen
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional for thickening
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Cooking the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the blueberries break down.
  3. If using cornstarch, mix it with a little water to create a slurry, then stir it into the sauce to thicken.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
