Method
Prepare the Blackening Seasoning
- In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
Prepare the Salmon
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub each fillet generously with the blackening seasoning on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Cook the Salmon
- Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Carefully flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
