Ingredients
  

Strawberry Layer
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced plus extra for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for macerating strawberries
Cake Layer
  • 1 pound store-bought pound cake cut into cubes
Whipped Cream Layer
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream chilled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar to sweeten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare Strawberries
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Toss to coat and let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
Make Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assemble Trifle
  1. In a trifle dish, layer half of the pound cake cubes, half of the macerated strawberries, and half of the whipped cream. Repeat the layers.
  2. Top with additional strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream for garnish.
